Compliance Universe Coverage

Proportion of the regulatory universe with assigned owners, controls and recent compliance testing.

Why the compliance universe must be fully mapped

An institution cannot demonstrate compliance with a regulatory universe it has not fully mapped, yet many compliance failures the AGSA reports stem from obligations no one was assigned to manage. Coverage means every part of the regulatory universe has an owner, supporting controls and recent testing. AuditPro Core measures the proportion of the compliance universe that is owned, controlled and recently tested so blind spots become visible before they become findings.

The compliance universe

The compliance universe is the complete set of laws and regulations the institution must obey. An incomplete universe means unknown obligations sit entirely outside any control.

The three coverage elements

Full coverage requires an assigned owner, mapped controls and recent testing for each obligation. Missing any one leaves the obligation only nominally managed.

Recency of testing

An obligation tested years ago offers stale assurance. Coverage counts only obligations whose compliance has been confirmed recently enough to be relied upon.

Blind spots

Uncovered obligations are blind spots where non-compliance accrues unnoticed. Quantifying coverage turns these silent gaps into a managed remediation list.

How AuditPro Core Bridges the Gap

  • Universe mapping: the regulatory universe is captured with each obligation's owner, controls and last test date.
  • Coverage scoring: the platform reports the share of the universe fully owned, controlled and recently tested.
  • Exception workflow: obligations missing an owner, control or recent test are flagged for action.
  • Audit-ready export: the coverage picture evidences a deliberate, complete compliance approach for the AGSA.

Key Takeaways

  • You cannot assure compliance with a universe you have not fully mapped.
  • Coverage needs an owner, controls and recent testing for each obligation.
  • Stale testing gives stale assurance; recency counts.
  • Uncovered obligations are blind spots where non-compliance quietly accrues.
